
I am pleased to introduce my latest product: the filter choke model 24i11, specifically designed for power supply applications in pi-filter configurations. This component represents a significant step forward in terms of performance and versatility compared to traditional solutions, offering an ideal upgrade option for the “Essential Line Mono Mosfet Preamplifier” project.

The Original Project
In the original “Essential Line Mono Mosfet Preamplifier” project, a double pi-filter configuration with two 5 mH inductors is used. Although effective, this configuration shows some limitations in terms of filtering capability. As we can see from the SPICE simulated graph, it achieves a -76dB cut @ 100Hz but with some resonance hints:
The New Solution with Model 24i11
The new filter choke model 24i11 has been designed to overcome these limitations, offering a much higher inductance of 500 mH – 100 times greater than the original solution. Thanks to this high value, it is possible to replace the double pi configuration with a single pi filter, simplifying the circuit and improving the overall filter performance. You can observe an attenuation of -93dB @ 100Hz and, above all, the absence of resonances.
Advantages of the New Design
Adopting my 24i11 model offers several advantages:
- Improved Filtering: The high inductance value allows for more effective attenuation of power supply ripple, minimizing noise that could affect audio signal quality.
